The snow hung around for once and it did make for an unusual load in for this gig to raise funds for Teens in Crisis.
The band Hard to Handle did two rocking sets - great to see everyone up and moving.
The venue presented some acoustic challenges as it's quite "live". We dealt with this by running fewer monitors than usual and working closely with the band to bring down their overall stage sound level so that the FOH level could be similarly reduced.
FOH desk was the QU24, PA was QSC K12 and KW181 (pictured) and the usual variety of mics including the Behringer BA 19A kick drum mic - which really surprised us. Very little EQ applied to the kick - it's all down the positioning of the mic - further away from the drum skin - not too close.
Best news of all is that the gig raised nearly £500 for TIC+ www.ticplus.org.uk
